Kristin Thorsrud Teien is new department director
CICERO is strengthening the institute with a new department director and is gearing up for further growth.
CICERO continues to win new projects and has recently received $20 million in net profit from selling CICERO Shades of Green, a subsidiary. The proceeds will be spent on independent climate research over the next 10 to 20 years.
– We are thrilled to announce that CICERO has hired Kristin Thorsrud Teien as the new department director, said Kristin Halvorsen, Director of CICERO.
Thorsrud Teien has broad experience in research and public service, and her background in climate and nature greatly contributes to CICERO. Thorsrud Teien is currently the research director at NINA, where she has been running their Oslo office for five years. Before that, she was Deputy Director General at the Ministry of Climate and Environment from 2011 to 2018.
Thorsrud Teien holds a master’s degree (hovedfag) in terrestrial ecology from the Norwegian College of Agriculture (now NMBU) and the University of Trondheim (now NTNU).
Her first day at CICERO will be 7 August.
