The complex and systemic risks the world is facing today can have cascading impacts across systems and sectors and require systems thinking and transdisciplinary approaches, according to a new Briefing Note on Systemic Risk.

Climate and society

In the Climate and society group, we do research on and for transformation processes towards a low-emission and climatically adapted society. In doing so, we analyze interactions between relevant processes and actors at different scales in order to produce high-quality research that is applicable for various societal actors.

Climate Policy

We work on understanding how international and national politics and policies affect each other, as well as the effect of climate policy instruments, focusing in particular on the global climate negotiations, climate policy in the EU, USA, China and Norway.
